This 1983 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King reference 5500 features an original warm-aged silver dial, a fully serviced automatic movement and its original stainless-steel Rolex Oyster bracelet. The watch is paired with a removable solid 14K yellow-gold Musuko bezel featuring three full-body Musuko bee characters positioned at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock.

The removable design gives the watch a unique Musuko identity without permanently altering its original dial, case or movement. The original smooth stainless-steel Rolex bezel is included, allowing the owner to return the watch to its classic factory-style appearance.

Vintage Character

The original silver dial has developed a warm, naturally aged appearance that gives this 1983 Air-King its distinctive character. Applied steel bar markers with black accents surround a black minute track, while steel stick hands with dark-aged luminous material complete the classic vintage design.

The dial remains in very good vintage condition. Natural patina and signs of age are present and contribute to the watch’s authentic vintage appearance.

The Musuko Bezel

The removable Musuko bezel is independently designed and custom-made specifically for this 34mm Rolex Air-King.

The bezel is cast from solid 14K yellow gold and finished with a smooth, high-polish surface. Three full-body Musuko bee characters are mounted at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. Each figure features a yellow bee head, antennae, black sunglasses, a gray skull sweatshirt, multicolored pants, sneakers and detailed wings.

Colored jewelry enamel is used to create the black, gray, yellow, green, blue and red character details. The bezel contains no diamonds, keeping the focus on the polished gold and Musuko artwork.

Condition

The stainless-steel case is in excellent vintage condition, and the original dial remains in very good condition for its age. The case, bracelet, crystal, dial and hands may show natural scratches, patina and signs of previous wear consistent with a vintage watch manufactured in 1983.

The original 26-jewel Rolex caliber 1520 automatic movement has been recently and fully serviced. Water resistance is not guaranteed unless the watch is pressure-tested before delivery.
